INFORMATION OF THE BANK OF ABKHAZIA
 
 
     

On 01 December 2014 the Bank of Abkhazia issues silver commemorative coins “Bgazhba Khukhut Solomonovich”, “Voronov Yurij Nikolaevich”, “Dzidzariya Georgij Alekseevich”, “Inal-ipa Shalva Denisovich” in denomination of 10 apsars of the series “The Outstanding Persons of Abkhazia”

The silver coins “Bgazhba Khukhut Solomonovich”catalogue № 0110010-007, “Voronov Yurij Nikolaevich” catalogue № 0110010-008, “Dzidzariya Georgij Alekseevich” catalogue № 0110010-009, “Inal-ipa Shalva Denisovich” catalogue № 0110010-010 are full-circle of 39 mm diametre in denomination of 10 apsars, fine precious metal content 31,1 grams, fineness 925, series “The Outstanding Persons of Abkahzia”.

On the obverse and reverse sides of the coins there is a rim raised along the circumference.

On the obverse side of all the abovementioned coins in the central upper part on the mirror field there is a relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Abkhazia, under the Emblem - the inscription in the Abkhaz language «Аҧсны Абанк» and above it there is a semicircular inscription of the coin denomination of 10 apsars. In the right part of the coin there is the Mint trade mark, the indication of the metal according to D. I. Mendeleev Periodic System of Elements, the fineness and weight. In the lower part of the coin on the matted field and on the relief small inscriptions «Аҧсны Абанк» in five lines there is a year of issue “2014”.

 

Obverse

 

On the reverse side of the coin “Bgazhba Khukhut Solomonovich” in its centre there is a portrait of a well-known scientist-expert in the study of Abkhazia, linguist, theorist of literature and folklorist Khukhut Solomonovich Bgazhba. In the lower part of the portrait – the scientist’s signature, facsimile. Below and on the right along the circumference there is the inscription in the Abkhaz language “Khukhut Bgazhba”. In the middle, to the left of the portrait there are dates “1914” and “2000”.

On the reverse side of the coin “Voronov Yurij Nikolaevich” there is a portrait of a well-known scientist-expert in the study of the Caucasus, conspicuous statesman of the Republic of Abkhazia Yurij Nikolaevich Voronov. On the right there are images of archeological finds. At the bottom, below the line there is a two-line inscription in the Abkhaz language: “Yurij Voronov” and the dates “1041-1995”.

On the reverse side of the coin “Dzidzariya Georgij Alekseevich” there is a portrait of a well-known scientist and expert in the study of the Caucasus, teacher and a conspicuous statesman of the Republic of Abkhazia Georgij Alekseevich Dzidzariya in the background of the coastal mountains and the Makhadzhirs leaving their Motherland. Above the portrait the inscription in the Abkhaz language “Georgij Dzidzariya” is circled along the circumference. In the lower part there are two lines of dates “1914” and “1988” and number 100.

On the reverse side of the coin “Inal-ipa Shalva Denisovich” there is a portrait of a well-known Abkhaz ethnologist-expert in the study of Caucasus, historian, folklorist, theorist of literature and a critic Shalva Denisovich Inal-ipa; in the lower part of the portrait – number “100”. To the right and to the left of the image – the dates “1914” and “1995”. Below the portrait the inscription in the Abkhaz language “Shalva Inal-ipa” including the image of the family coat of arms “tamga” is circled along the circumference.

The issued coins are legal tender of the Republic of Abkhazia in their denomination having a firm equivalent in Russian rubles – 1 apsar equals to 10 Russian rubles.

The realization of the commemorative fine metal coins of the Bank of Abkhazia to juridical and natural persons is performed by the credit institutions of the Republic of Abkhazia.
