As of January 1, 2024, the total volume of deposits in commercial banks of the Republic of Abkhazia amounted to 4.2 billion rubles, which is 1.3 billion rubles or 45.4% more than on the same date of the previous year. At the same time, deposits of individuals as of January 1, 2024 amounted to 3.3 billion rubles, which is 28.1% more than last year’s figure.
In 2023, the income of individuals from deposits in commercial banks amounted to 330.7 million rubles, which is 18.6 million rubles higher than in 2022.
The weighted average interest rate on deposits in 2023 was 9.7%.
