In the first half of 2020, bank card holders on the territory of Abkhazia carried out transactions totaling 7.132 billion rubles. Thus, the volume of transactions made through the payment infrastructure of the national payment system APRA increased by 13.7%, or 861 million rubles compared to the same period last year. In the structure of transactions, APRA cards accounted for 63.3%, MPS cards - 31.4%, and Mir payment system cards - 5.3%.
The volume of transactions with Russian bank cards at NPS APRA for the first half of 2020 increased by 36.2% (694 million rubles) compared to the same period last year and amounted to 2.616 billion rubles. Including "Mir"cards — transactions for 377 million rubles since the beginning of the year.
Since October 2019, banks participating in the national payment system APRA began to issue APRA "World" cards with the ability to carry out operations outside the Republic of Abkhazia. For the first half of 2020, holders of APRA "World" cards made transactions abroad for RUB 21.03 million.
According to the results of six months of 2020, the volume of non-cash transactions for payment for goods and services by bank cards amounted to 943 million rubles. The total amount of 737 million rubles was paid by the MPS cards in the trade and service enterprises of the republic, the volume of non-cash transactions of Mir card holders amounted to 102 million rubles. The amount of non-cash transactions with APRA cards for the six months of 2020 amounted to 104 million rubles, and compared to the same period last year, more than doubled. On average, APRA cardholders make purchases daily for a total of 568 thousand rubles.
At the same time, through the infrastructure of APRA for two quarters of this year, holders of bank cards cashed 6.189 billion rubles. Thus, the average cash withdrawal rate exceeds RUB 1 billion per month.
In 2020, the payment infrastructure of NPS APRA was increased by 161 POS-terminal devices. In total, 2090 terminals have been installed on the territory of Abkhazia for accepting bank cards at the points of sale of goods and services.
